HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Veterans Day is a day to pay our respects to those who have served our country. On Wednesday Adams Central High School did that with a celebration just for vets.
Students, staff and service members joined together at Adams Central for their annual Veterans Day Program.
Veterans from all branches of the military in the area were recognized for their sacrifices with music performed by the school's band and choir, as well as special guest speakers.
Adams central student council puts on the program every year and one of their members, senior Sebastian Boelhower, said it's an important way to show their appreciation to those who've served our country.
"This is one of the most special things that student council does. And it's actually one of the biggest events of the year for Adams Central. Because this is an opportunity for us to truly give back to the people that have scarified so much for our country. he said.
While Veterans Day is actually Sunday. November 12th, the school likes to celebrate it during the school week so that all students and facility can participate in the event.
