Temporarily, the Adams County Treasurer's Office is suspending all walk-in traffic. Adams County supervisor, Scott Thompson said the move is to comply with State guidelines on how to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus.

"That's the busiest office that we have at the courthouse. There is a lot of foot traffic that goes through there and this is just designed to keep the public safe, keep our courthouse employees safe," Thompson said.

For those who need to contact the office, they can call the office number (402-471-7983) or

On top of this, only 10 people from the public will be allowed in the courthouse at one time.

"If we can keep people from getting in larger groups, that's the way to fight this virus," Thompson said. "You know we're just concerned with our employees and for the public and everything we can do to keep people safe."

Thompson said the Board of Supervisors will meet at the old Wallace School south of Hastings right off Highway 281, which includes their meeting on Tuesday, April 7.

Like the courthouse, only 10 members of the public can attend those supervisor meetings.
