Central Community College in Hastings announced details for the new expansion and renovation project coming to campus.
The Hamilton Building, which houses the advanced manufacturing design technology program, and the welding technology program will undergo a 17,000 square-foot-expansion on the south side and a 15,000 square-foot-renovation of the existing facility. The total cost at $10.3 million.
Officials say skilled work force is a big part of what CCC is all about. And they're looking forward to adding to students successes after graduation.
"It's going to be really state-of-the-art and it's going to bring something really special for the students that come here. They're going to be working on state-of-the-art equipment, programs, the curriculum and it's allowing them to get that degree to get them into the market place. And there are jobs waiting for them right now. And so we're pretty excited about that." said CCC Foundation Executive Director, Dean Moors.
Ground breaking is expected to take place sometime in the early fall of 2018 and they are hoping to have students moved in to the new facilities by fall of 2019.
