Community Driven Keeps Giving winner donates $300 to Boys Town Behavioral Health

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - This month's Community Driven Keeps Giving put $300 in the Boys Town Behavioral Health's pockets.

Grand Island resident Greg Stimple was winner of this month's drawing and chose the organization to make his donation to.

Boys Town provides care for children and families struggling with mental health issues. Stimple says he chose the organization because he supports what they do and thinks there is not enough mental health awareness in central Nebraska.

"I don't think there's enough mental health in the schools and in Grand Island because there is no where to go," Stimple said. "That is why I decided to donate the money here."

Boys Town staff was shocked by the unexpected gift and say they will put it towards their expansion plans.

"Things around here have blown up and we are super busy serving a lot of kids," Boys Town Director Carley Starling said. "We are actually looking to expand and this donation is really going to help us serve more kids."

This was the last month for the yearlong giveaway, but the participants involved say they plan to continue to donate to local charities.
