Crews work on auto shop fire in Grand Island
An early morning fire caused heavy damage to a small auto shop in Grand Island.
The fire started just before 11 p.m. Thursday at 2015 W. 3rd Street. That's located behind the old Fazoli's.
The fire then reignited around 7 a.m. Friday.
Grand Island Fire said nobody was injured in the fire. They said there where reports of minor explosions, which could be due to chemicals found inside an automotive shop. There was a motorcycle inside the building as well as car parts.
Our reporter on scene said the west end of the building was heavily damaged.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown as well as the amount of damages.
Grand Island Police said the area around 3rd street was closed while crews worked.
