The man whose body was found Monday near Motorsports Park Hastings had a criminal record in Kansas.
On Wednesday, the Adams County attorney identified the man as 58-year-old Ricky Ghan.
Ghan was last seen in Hastings on October 14, 2017.
The county attorney's office said the investigation into the man's death and an autopsy did not indicate foul play.
Records indicated that Ghan was convicted of assault in case where another man was shot in the face.
Adams county sheriff's deputy Gary Reed told Local 4 that Ghan was employed by White trucking, a firm based in northeast Nebraska. Ghan had been involved in a hit-and-run accident on October 14th and was subsequently dismissed by White trucking. It was after that, that Ghan went missing until his body was discovered on Monday.
An Adams County Sheriff's official said a groundskeeper working for MPH discovered Ghan's remains Monday around noon.
Motorsports Park Hastings is located at the corner of Showboat Road and Highway 6 just southeast of town.
The Hastings Police Department and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted in the investigation.
