Winter can be a source of enjoyment, not just a season is endure while "counting down to spring". (Source: KSNB)
That's the attitude officials at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings say they impart to their residents, and to everyone else.
Courtney Peeler from Good Samaritan says your attitude can go a long way in fighting Seasonal Affective Disorder.
"It's about figuring out how do we make the best of it", said Peeler.
Some suggestions from Peeler include: Choosing to gather with friends over a comfy fire and warm cup of coffee, layering in warm and beautiful clothing. gathering to work on a puzzle, or knit a blanket and taking a walk in the winter wonderland and enjoying the beauty of the dormant earth.
She says these are some of the keys to not just surviving, but enjoying in the winter months.
