Events for all ages at Hastings Library

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) More than a refuge from the cold, the Hastings Public Library is also heating things up with a variety of events in the coming weeks.

Library marketing director Morgan Karel says they look to hold events for people of all ages.

"We are really working on reaching everybody we can in the community," said Karel. "We just really want to raise awareness that we're a free place where everybody can hang out."

One event is a change from their previous schedule. Family Storytime is now an all-ages evening event each Thursday at 6:30. By being an evening event, Karel is hoping that more working parents can be involved.

Special events include a Teen Mario Kart Tournament is be held Saturday, February 23 at 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is needed for that event.

On Saturday, March 2, everyone is invited to a Dr. Suess Birthday Party. That will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Teen librarian Rachel Mueller says these events are just the beginning.

"it's so much fun. We've got a lot coming up in the spring," said Mueller.

Details on these events and others can be found on the library web site.
