The Nebraska State Fair has officially run 150 years with 10 of those years coming in Grand Island. The start of 2019's Fair had parking lot closures, standing water and less than ideal weather. Overall, people had positive reactions to this year's Fair, though.
From volunteers to the average fair goer to people showing animals, it seemed as though everyone enjoyed the 150th year Fairabration.
"I think they have adjusted particularly well," Cindy Johnson said. "They were faced with a lot of challenges relating to the weather and with the rain and I think they've done a nice job adjusting to the climate and things that they had no ability to control."
Johnson attended the fair 11 days this year. She takes her grand kids every year to take a photo on the same bench with corn dogs in hopes of one day being able to look back on how the grand kids have grown over the years.
"From the rides to the skytram to the concerts, all the animals, and everything...it gives a lot of stuff for the people to see," Addison Cotton and Mattie Pohl said.
Cotton and Pohl attended the Fair every day to show their respective animals. Although busy each day, the girls made time to try some of the food and were able to attend the Little Big Town concert.
They praised the Fair for doing a good job on giving people who attend an opportunity to meet people and see things they may not otherwise.
