Farm accident claims life of man south of Paxton

PAXTON, Neb. (KNOP) - Keith County Attorney Randy Fair reports that it appears that James W. Covalt, 45, was jump starting a tractor which was in gear. Officials determined that Covalt was run over by the tractor's rear tires.

Covalt died at his home south of Paxton on Wednesday, May 15. Fair said that the preliminary autopsy and investigation by law enforcement agencies led by the Keith County Sheriff's Office determines that Covalt died of blunt force trauma and multiple body fractures.

Keith County Attorney Randy Fair asks that people keep the family of James W. Covalt in their thoughts.

Fair extends a thank you to law enforcement, emergency personnel and helpful volunteers for responding to the incident.
