GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) Hall County Board Chair Pam Lancaster, working in conjunction with the Grand Island-Hall County Emergency Management Department, declared a local emergency on March 14, 2019, in response to the Flooding and Blizzard event that occurred on March 13 & 14, 2019. County agencies partnered with the Central Platte Natural Resources District and other local departments to develop a coordinated Incident Action Plan to answer the needs of this event.
“Flooding is affecting a wide variety of areas along Wood River, Prairie Creek and Silver Creek,” said Jon Rosenlund, Emergency Management Director. “This local declaration will allow the County to utilize emergency resources and agreements to better meet the needs during this incident.”
Residents are encouraged to monitor the rivers and creeks in their area and report any damages or dangerous situations to local authorities.
