G.I. hosts skills academy for teachers.

Teachers and educators shared ideas and best practices. The overall goal is a highly educated student population that is ready to head to college or take on the world.

"Some of the most important work that came out of today was providing us with different strategies that we can use with kids to help them be more successful and independent. Allowing them to go through the productive struggle and us not holding all of the learning but allowing them to work through that process," said Jordyn Hubbard, Director of Skills Academy, GIPS

Along with learning new ways to engage students, the teachers also learned how to improve giving instructions.
