GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police are investigating a shooting overnight near Fonner Park Road.

A shooting was reported in the 1100 block of Pleasant View Drive in Grand Island just before 2 a.m. Thursday.

“It's very lucky that nobody was injured in this case,” Captain Jim Duering said. “Several of the rounds traveled through the walls and in to interior furniture and even striking a vehicle in the garage.”

Police do not know what the motive of the shooting is.

“We don't have any reason to believe these are connected to the other shootings that we've had there's no motivational connections, there's no connections between the residents, the firearms and the calibers are not the same,” Captain Duering said.

The family that lives in the house is not connected to any activity that would motivate this kind of violent crime. Police ask for any and all information people may have.
