GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - At Tuesday night's city council meeting it was time to turn over the reigns in Grand Island.
Starting Wednesday there will be a lot of new blood running the city of Grand Island. But, plenty of staple members as well to help guide the process
The new city council members were sworn in and previous members recognized for their service. Outgoing elected officials were given time to make remarks and express their gratitude and aspirations for the city.
Appointments were also approved; City Clerk, Treasurer, City Attorney and the Public Works Director. The new Assistant City Administrator was also approved and he is ready to hit the ground running.. "Next week we already have meetings set up with the veterans home, figuring out the properties with the state of Nebraska and figuring out the next steps moving forward, that is a top priority," said Brent Clark.
The new Mayor, Roger Steele was also sworn in.
The current City Administrator, Marlon Ferguson, will retire in March and Brent Clark, the new Assistant City Administrator will move into the role full-time
