Gering construction project is positively coming together
With the Gering High School construction project, many upgrades have been coming along with little to no issues.
According to Principal for Gering High School Eldon Hubbard, so far, the office area has been built and the administration has moved back in.
The classrooms on the west wing of the school have also been built and the teachers have moved back in.
As of right now, they are enclosing the new library area, pouring the floor into the commons area and adding dry wall into the kitchen area.
They are rebuilding the restrooms in the outer area of the gym and pouring floor for the new wrestling room, axillary gym and freshman academy.
Principal Hubbard says this project is needed for the community.
“The current building would serve the community well and with this update, we think that it will not only service the community but be our source to bring people into the community,” explained Eldon Hubbard, Principal for Gering High School.
For parents concerned about construction noise within the teaching classrooms, Hubbard says not to worry, they got that covered.
“This last weekend, they built another temp wall down the main hallway so that they can work on the new outside wall to the library,” explained Hubbard. “We are working to keep things isolated.”
Hubbard says the construction project is on budget and on time. You can visit their website https://www.geringschools.net/ghsproject/ghsbuildingproject/ for updates.
