Grand Island fabric store offers help making masks

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island materials store is doing what they can to help with the demand for medical face masks. One of the owners of Material Girl Fabrics said local doctors offices and veterinarians have reached out to them about materials for masks and caps.

While hospitals in the area aren’t full like other states, some customers have been sending them to Omaha and around the country where COVID19 is more prevalent.

They said the hardest thing to find is the elastic for the masks. But not every office needs the elastic kind. They suggest calling or looking up where you want to send the masks to see what kind they need and how to make them.

Store employees can help people find materials that can be used for the masks or gowns.
