Central City infant gets NEST check for college fund

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A local family had their first born child on March 27. On Wednesday they got a jump on starting his college fund, thanks to a helping hand.

One-month-old Gable was picked to receive a $529 contribution to a Nebraska Educational Savings Trust fund. His parents Ivie and Myles say they're both working on paying off their student loans.

They want their son to attend college and not have to be stressed out about paying tuition. This check gets the ball rolling on relieving any future financial burden.

"It's great to have a savings plan already started. He's just a month so that's a good start for us," said Ivie Butt.

Parents who want to register their infant for the Nebraska Education Savings Trust drawing can do so by visiting www.NEST529.com.
