Grand Island man arrested on 12 counts of burglary and theft
The Grand Island Police Department said they've cracked a case involving recent thefts and burglaries.
On Wednesday Grand Island police arrested Christopher Spangler, 23, of Grand Island, on 12 counts involving burglary and theft.
Capt. Jim Duering said during a search warrant they uncovered a large amount of stolen property including power tools and other items.
According to Duering, since early May both businesses and residential areas off west 2nd Street have fallen victim to burglaries and thefts.
Duering said they started looking more closely into the incidents after the departments Crime Analyst noticed a related trend in the crimes.
And that said video camera systems in the area also helped in identifying the suspect.
Duering said Spangler admitted to the incidents and was charged with six counts of burglary and six counts of theft by unlawful taking.
