Jefferson Elementary gets major upgrades

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island public schools are set to start up this week and quite possibly no one is more excited than the members of Jefferson Elementary.

Jefferson Elementary gets major upgrades in new building.

Built on the same site as the old school, the building was one of seven construction projects approved under a bond in 2014.

Right when students walk through the front doors they will see the Jefferson logo on the floor with "every student, every day, a success" above it on the wall going up to the ceiling.

Built with students' success in mind, everything in the school has a purpose and is geared toward the comfort and success of students.

With new community spaces, separate areas for lunch and gym, new study spaces and new gathering areas throughout for collaboration, Grand Island Public School officials hope this building sets the standard for years to come.
