HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - A St. Paul man was cited on multiple accounts after eluding Hastings police over the weekend, and causing damage to a building in a hit-and-run incident.

Police received a call Friday night of a person driving recklessly on Burlington Avenue. Around 9:20 p.m., they saw the suspected vehicle in the 700 block of West South Street. Upon trying to stop him, the driver took off at a high rate of speed south on Lincoln Avenue and was seen running a stop sign. Police chose not to pursue at that time.

Later, the vehicle was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in the 500 block of South Minnesota Avenue when the driver lost control and hit a building.

Police were able to contact the alleged driver Saturday. At which time Dakota Necker, 25, of St. Paul was issued citations for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Operating a Vehicle to Avoid Authorities, and Driving Under Revocation.

No one was injured in the incidents.
