Hall County looking to recognize businesses with beauty

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - As you drive through Hall County, have you ever seen a business that makes you say "wow that is pretty", well now you have a chance to help that business get recognized.

Hall County looks to recognize businesses who work to make their exterior look nice.

The hall County Regional Planning Commission is looking for the best of Grand Island and the county.

“It could be anything from plants and shrubbery to well maintained greenery to we've had businesses in the downtown that have been nominated because they put flower pots out on the sidewalk,” Regional Planning Director Chad Nabity said.

The public can nominate a business that has enhanced Grand Island or other towns in the county with their exterior looks.

“It is something that the community gets behind and we've been fortunate enough to be able to award it almost every year for the past 50 years,” Nabity said.

The winner will get a plaque to celebrate their hard work. The competition excludes public funded buildings and residences.

Nominations will be collected through August 16th and the winner will be announced in early September.
