GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - With votes from Howard and Merrick County still to be tallied into the total, Zach Mader appeared to be the top vote-getter in the 9 person race for three open seats on the Grand Island Northwest school board.

With 100% of Hall County votes counted Mader, along with Daniel Leiser, Robin Schutt, Janel Laub, Kristina Vicek and Kim Meyer appeared to advance to the general election.

The primary determined the top six candidates to advance to the general election. Now voters in November will choose the top three vote-getters to take seats on the Northwest school board.

The Northwest district also includes precincts in Howard and Merrick counties. The vote totals from those two counties were not available as of late Tuesday night.
