GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Another successful event as Habitat for Humanity held their annual "Hard Hat and Heel's" Event at the Bosselman Event Center in Grand Island.
More than 350 people were their to show support for the event. Along with a silent and live auction there were plenty of raffle tickets to be bought.
Habitat for Humanity Grand Island is looking to build it's 99th home. They are raising money for home construction.
Families who qualify have to put in hours working on their own home and they are given an interest free loan.
"What's great is we bring together the entire community and we equip the people that are buying the home with the education to be successful home owners," said Dana Jelinek, Grand Island Habitat for Humanity.
Local 4's Spencer Schubert was one of the hosts for the event.
Approximately $40,000 is usually raised from the dinner and auction.
Along with 500 sweat equity hours, the future homeowners also have to take 21 classes in home ownership and personal finance.
