HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hundreds of high school students came out to the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center mural competitions.
Schools from across the state sent teams that had to paint a 46 x 76 inch mural. Hastings College started this competition originally as a recruitment strategy.
They want students to come to the art center and encourage them to study there after they graduate
“And it has actually become more than that for us now,” Art Professor Tom Kraeger said. “It's become a challenge for the students. They have to come learn to collaborate. They don't know what they're making until they get their prompts.”
The winner of the competition will get their own gallery show at the JDAC. The other top three will get trophies.
