Three films, each with something unique to offer, are among the current features at the Hastings Museum.

Marketing director Becky Tideman says the feature film for the weekend is "Late Night". Bringing this current release to museum fits into their plans to give people a chance to see a movie they may have otherwise missed.

"Whenever a film with good reviews like that misses downtown for whatever reason, we make sure to do our best to book it," said Tideman.

Also showing once Saturday and then again next weekend is the documentary "Echo in the Canyon". The museum web site describes the film this way: Echo In The Canyon celebrates the explosion of popular music that came out of LA’s Laurel Canyon in the mid-60s as folk went electric and The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield and The Mamas and the Papas gave birth to the California Sound.

Also new to the museum is "Rocky Mountain Express", focusing on a stream train journey through the scenic Canadian Rocky Mountains.

"We always want to have a little buffet of films out there," said Tideman. "A little something for everyone".

Tideman also wants to remind people of changes in their hours. Now that school has started, the museum closes at 4:00 p.m. weekdays. Also, beginning the first Monday after Labor Day, the museum will close on Mondays throughout the winter season.
