Heartland Pet fund raiser offers up cupcakes, kegs
It's a combination not often seen, but cupcakes and kegs will help raise fund for the Heartland Pet Connection in Hastings. The event is Monday night at First Street Brewing Company.
With people paying for cupcakes, chili and cinnamon rolls and brews, money to raised to help keep the shelter operating.
"This goes to help pay for medical expenses for the animals throughout the year," said Jennie Theesen from Heartland Pet Connection. "It pays for the vaccinations, spays and neuters and just helps us keep everything running smooth for the animals and taking care of them."
This is the fourth year that First Street Brewing Company has partnered with the event. They say it's a way for them to support non-profits in town, plus they think they have a craft brew or two that may pair up well with cupcakes.
"Well, we do have one special one that actually gets launched today," said Jessi Hoeft from First Street. "It an Imperial Chocolate Stout. I have a feeling that one will be very popular on Monday."
