Important event coming up for Hastings Salvation Army

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) The sounds of gospel music will once again fill the air at the Hastings Salvation Army Friday night. New Covenant, a group from West Virginia will be making a return performance.

The show begins at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free, but a "goodwill love offering" will be accepted.

Hastings Salvation Army Major Dale Brandenburg also want to point out that Give Hastings Day is coming up May 9, with early donations being accepted beginning May 1. Give Hastings Day is a dedicated day for people to donate to non-profits in town.

Major Brandenburg says some of their traditional funding sources are not available this year, so they have a special designation ready for donation they receive.

"This year we're taking all the money that comes in on Give Hastings Day and putting it right straight into the mobile feeding program," said Brandenburg.

Last year the mobile feeding program served an average of 300 meals a day in Hastings during the summer months. Brandenburg expects that number to go up this summer, so more support is needed.

People can start early donations to Give Hastings Day through the
event web site beginning May 1.
