KEARNY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney City Council has updated their city code for tobacco use among minors to now reflect the state's code.
During a the council's meeting on Tuesday night council voted to revise the current "Tobacco Possession by Minors" portion to include all vaping products.
The council vice president told Local4 News that the wordage was changed to align with Nebraska state law and what the state of Nebraska has written in their code.
The revised wordage now states that cigarettes, cigars, vaping products, electronic cigarettes or alternative nicotine produces are illegal for those under age 18.
