Kearney updating city code on tobacco for minors

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Kearney City Council might add vaping products to city code in regard to tobacco possession by minors.

It's part of an update to Kearney's city ordinance, which would include vaping and other nicotine products in the city code on tobacco possession by minors.

Two sections of the Nebraska State Statute include these items. City officials said adding them would align Kearney with the state.

The council will discuss this at their next meeting.

It's at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, and is open to the public.
