Laughs are guaranteed for "The Odd Couple, The Female Version"

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) Things will look a little different when the Hastings Community Theatre presents The Odd Couple over the next two weekends. This time, it's the female versions. Roles played in the original play that were men - like Oscar and Felix - are now women. Think Olive and Florence.

Director Donna Hastings says this presentation is going to deliver the laughs.

"We've rehearsed this for about six weeks now," said Hastings, "And I still, last night, I still laughed out loud."

Patrick Crawford plays the role of Manolo Costazuela in the play, and says delivering a light-hearted comedy is just what they want to do.

"We try to chose shows each season that will draw an audience," said Crawford. "There's so much serious in the world right now, it's nice to take a few hours and get away from all that."

Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. There are also shows October 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and October 21 at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased by calling the community theater at (402) 463-1500, by email at or from their web site.
