HASTINGS, Neb. - (KSNB) An Oklahoma man is looking at possible first degree assault charges after beating another man at a Hastings hotel.
Hastings police say Anthony Marek, 30, from Eucha, OK got into an argument with a man that is dating his mother. The argument got physical and Marek ended up breaking bones in the man's face that required hospitalization.
The incident happened at the Comfort Inn, but police were first called to Mary Lanning Healthcare around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, where the victim was being treated. Marek was not around at the time, but turned himself in to authorities that afternoon.
The victim, Loren Holt, 53, also from Eucha, OK, was later transferred to a Lincoln hospital for surgery, according to Hastings police. His condition is not known at this time.
Marek was arrested for first degree assault.
