GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A mother and son are recovering from injuries suffered in a Wednesday car crash on Interstate 80.
The Nebraska State Patrol said a semi and four other vehicles crashed about 1 p.m. in the eastbound lane about five miles east of Grand Island.
NSP said the accident was caused by the driver of the semi, who failed to slow down when it entered the construction zone. The semi slammed into the back of a pickup carrying a u-haul, which then caused a chain reaction.
Video showed debris strewn across the eastbound lane and in the median.
Thursday, the State Patrol said Bobby Selegrath, 20, was listed in critical condition. His mother Faith Selegrath, 39, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
