NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A North Platte man was seriously hurt after he lost control of his all-terrain vehicle on Highway 30 Thursday evening, just west of the city.
The Lincoln County Sheriff says 27-year-old Steven Conway was driving on the highway when he raised his hand to wave at a friend and lost control of the machine. He was thrown off the four wheeler onto the highway.
Conway was taken to Great Plains Health and later flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with life threatening injuries.
Officials say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this accident.
