One taken to hospital following car vs. person

HALL COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - There was only minor injuries after a man walking along Husker Highway west of Grand Island was hit by the rear view mirror of a passing car.

Hall County Sheriff's Department officials say the car was close to the edge of the road to avoid an on-coming car when his rear view mirror hit the man on the elbow.

The man was transported to CHI Health St. Francis to take care of the cut.

The Grand Island Fire Department responded to the call just after 6 a.m.

It happened west of Highway 30 on Husker Highway in Hall County.

In an added note of irony, sheriff's officials say the two men know each other and in fact work together.

No citations were issued.
