Over $38,000 stolen from local baseball team

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A Sutherland woman is accused of stealing money from the "Hershland" Baseball league. Lincoln County Sheriff office says a forensic accountant helped them figure out 44-year-old Robin Hiatt store over $38,000 over the last two years.

Hershey / Sutherland "Hershland" American Legion Post 279 Baseball League was missing a large sum of money. Hiatt ignored the sheriff office requests to talk about the discrepancies.

She was arrested, Wednesday the 12th. The Arrest Warrant lists a charge of Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $5000.00. She was jailed. Officials say the case remains under investigation with more charges are pending.
