The Grand Island Public Library parking lot has expanded, just in time for Election Day.
The library will serve as a polling place on Tuesday, November 6 for the 2018 Midterm Election.
The entire south half of its parking lot will be available to voters and patrons. This updated renovation will now double the number of available parking spaces.
If this is your polling place, you can access public parking is available only from Highway 30 (2nd Street) and the southern-most entrance off of Adams Street.
The northern entrance off of Adams Street is for construction purposes only, and the entrance off of 3rd Street is for staff-only parking.
Once you are parked, you will still need to enter the building on the south side as the west entrance is still under construction.
Inside the library, renovation has also proceeded to the point that its meeting room can be used for the election. The meeting room is just a short distance away through the Children's Section and signage will pint voters to the polls.
Polls open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
