It's been over 20 years now since Stuhr Museum's Railroad Town has added a new building. Starting Saturday June 16th, visitors and staff will be able to enjoy the new addition.

The Peter Stuhr building was built back in 1869 and is one of the first originally structures of Hall County.

The building was acquired by the museum back in 2012. Now 6 years later and after extensive restoration, it now resembles what it would have likely looked like during the late 1890's.

Marketing Director, Mike Bockoven says it's the perfect addition and holds true to their mission.

"We believe in hands on education. We believe that when you come out and you see the houses and your feet hit the floors and you smell what it's like and see the artifacts rather than reading it out of a book. We want to interpret and tell the story of the people who settled Hall County and i think that's what this house does really well," said Bockoven.

You can come out and see the new Peter Stuhr building in Railroad Town from 6 to 9 p.m. on June 16th.
