HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) A community-wide event in May will hopefully provide the Hastings Salvation Army with the funding they need to continue their summer feeding program. The need for the program has grown quickly, according to Major Dale Brandenburg of the Salvation Army.
"It's a program that started three years ago and we were doing about 100 meals a day," said Brandenburg. "Last year we ended up doing 300 meals a day."
Brandenburg says any donations directed to the Salvation Army during the upcoming Give Hastings Day will be earmarked for the summer feeding program.
Give Hastings Day will be held May 9th.
