Sasse on Kavanaugh investigation

OMAHA, Neb. — An investigation is underway on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

President Trump ordered the investigation following pressure from Senate Republicans, including Sen. Jeff Flake.

Kavanaugh said he will continue to cooperate as the Senate vote is delayed for another week.

Sen. Ben Sasse landed at Eppley Airfield Friday night after leaving the hearings.

"During the confirmation process right now, it has become a kind of theater, but the guy has been accused of all sorts of things. Dr. Ford is a victim of something. I'm very sympathetic to her situation, but we also have allegations coming in, claiming that the guy has been a part of gang rape organizations for decades across a whole bunch of geography. Things that are not in any way credible or plausible," Sasse said.

The FBI has until Friday to conduct the investigation.
