Iowa man arrested for DUI after I-80 rollover in Central Nebraska

HALL COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - March 13, 2017 Update:

A Council Bluffs man is in custody for DUI after an overnight semi-truck accident on Interstate 80 near Wood River.

It happened around midnight, just over a mile east of the Wood River exit in the westbound lane.

A semi-trailer truck, carrying farm chemicals, rolled onto its side and landed in the median.

The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality said the trailer contained herbicides and pesticides. The NDEQ and a state patrol hazmat team were cleaning up the accident site.

The westbound lane of the Interstate was at least partially closed through the noon hour Monday during the clean-up process.

The Hall county sheriff said the driver, Michael Clark, 51, of Council Bluffs, IA suffered minor injuries and chemical exposure. After he was treated, sheriff's deputies arrested Clark for driving under the influence of alcohol.
