TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT FOR RED WILLOW, HITCHCOCK, FRONTIER, HAYES, DUNDY, CHASE, PERKINS, KEITH AND LINCOLN COUNTIES, UNTIL 8 PM SUNDAY
As of 6:00 p.m., severe weather is beginning in Eastern Colorado. The first part of this is a TORNADO WATCH for the SW tier of Nebraska Counties until 8:00 p.m. CDT. In that area, a few tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds will all be possible. Later in the late evening into the overnight hours, the threat will shift east towards Kearney, Grand Island and Hastings between 12-2 a.m. At this point, damaging winds of 60-70+ mph winds will be our main threat. Please note that the timing could change slightly.
Have a plan now. Don't plan on the Outdoor Warning Sirens to alert you of severe weather. Instead, use Local4 programming or your Local4 app. Also, a NOAA Weather Radio is a great way to alert you when you're asleep.
Monday will feature highs in the low 80s, the temperatures will slowly climb through the week. We will reduce our rain chances to only a few isolated batches, and sunshine will increase. This high pressure will result in high temps at week's end to be near 90.
