Stagecoach hopes to reopen in a few days
The costume store Stagecoach in Kearney was forced to close after a foot of water came rushing inside on Tuesday. The owners say they noticed the hotels down the road start to take on water and that it was quickly moving their way. They rushed into action to do what they could to save their store.
“So about that time we decided we better start taking some of our merchandise that was low and put it up high and so we did that until the electricity finally went off and we were afraid we wouldn't be able to get out of here,” Owner Gary Glandon said.
Most of the merchandise that was damaged was in a shed behind the store. They are now working on clean up and hope to reopen in a few days.
“Oh yeah we'll come back fine here and it kind of hurts us right now because this is the height of our summer season and we're losing a lot of revenue and have to turn away a lot of customers right now,” Glandon said.
They are having a professional cleaning crew come in to make sure they won't have to deal with mold.
