GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Stolley Park reopened Friday afternoon after being closed since Tuesday night's storms. The Parks department said the storms made it unsafe, but they've spent the last few days cleaning up.
People are now allowed back inside and this weekend's events will continue as planned. That includes the annual Art in the Park scheduled for Sunday.
Organizers have already rescheduled the event once and were worried they would have to again.
"When we had to postpone the first time, it was something we really didn't want to do but with all the water that was in the park it was something we definitely knew we had to do," Co-Coordinator Jean Cook said. "Then when we had the storm, it made us think 'uh oh, now what do we do?'"
With the park back open, everything will go on as planned and the event will take place on Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
