GRAND ISLAND, Neb (KSNB) -- A 49 year tradition aimed at raising fund for catholic education is Grand Island returns this weekend.
Karnival Kapers is scheduled for Sunday, March 18 at Grand Island Central Catholic High School. The day includes a meal of roast beef and chicken served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Overall festivities, including raffles, games, baked good and more continues until 3:00 p.m. when the large prize winners will be drawn.
Proceeds from Karnival Kapers supports the Fine Arts Guild, Athletic Booster Club, student scholarship program, Student Council and Development Foundation at GICC.
Event chairperson Peg Harders, appearing on Local4 News at 11:30, says volunteers help make the event successful each year, which is crucial for the school.
"We need to have this to keep the school going every year," said Harders.
Tickets are $9.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors 60-plus and elementary students. Children age four and under are free.
