LINCOLN, Neb. (KSNB) - More than half of American workers failed to use all their time off last year, according to Nebraska Tourism and on National Plan for Vacation Day the organization is encouraging people to make use of those days.

That failure to use days can be credited to a lack of planning, which can lead to vacation days wasting away.
Nebraska Tourism is encouraging people to sit down and look at the calendar earlier in the year, allowing for more time to lay out ideas and plan various trips. The group's Facebook page will be posting ideas throughout the day to inspire people to take trips.
There is also a vacation planning tool on Nebraska Tourism's website that allows people to enter the amount of days they have, look at a calendar to plot out days and trips and then share those calendars to be worked on with friends and family.
"Nebraska Tourism is celebrating National Plan for Vacation Day to encourage Americans to take their well-deserved time off," said John Ricks, Nebraska Tourism Commission executive director.
