GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - The Heartland United Way is collaborating with the United States Marine Corps and the Salvation Army to bring the 22nd Annual Toys for Tots Distribution to Grand Island. The Toys for Tots Program provides toys to children age 0 -12 who live in Hall, Hamilton, Howard and Merrick Counties.

The goal for the Toys for Tots Program is to provide each child with a toy, book, stuffed animal, a stocking stuffer and a board game for the family. Each year, the Toys for Tots Distribution serves just under 2,000 local children.

Toy donations are needed to make the Toys for Tots Distribution a success. New, un-wrapped toys for age 0 -12 are currently being collected and needed. Public toy drop locations are Hobby Town USA (201 Wilmar Ave, Grand Island), the Aurora News Register (1320 K St, Aurora) and Heartland United Way (1441 N Webb Road, Grand Island). Toy donations are being accepted now through Tuesday, December 10th.

As well as toys, volunteers are needed for the Toys for Tots Distribution. There is a variety of different volunteer opportunities to sign up for. Volunteers age 13 and over can visit www.Go2Volunteer.org to view and sign up to volunteer.

If you have any questions about donating toys or volunteering, please contact Cammie Benson at the Heartland United Way office at 308-382-2675.
