MERRICK Co. Neb. (KSNB) - Two Kearney men are facing possible weapons and drug charges in Merrick county after an arrest there in January 7th.
According to the Merrick County Sheriff's Office, a deputy pulled the two over east of Chapman,the evening of the 7th after seeing suspicious activity at a convenience store there.
Upon seeing a shotgun in the car the two were detained without incident. A K9 also alerted officers to the presence of drugs.
A search of the vehicle found concentrated cannabis ,drug paraphernalia, as well as a sawed off shot gun and multiple concealed knives.
Tyler Tockey, 26, and James Howell, 21, both of Kearney were booked on three felonies related to the weapons. Howell also booked for felony tampering with evidence. both were booked on multiple misdemeanor drug and vehicle violations as well.
