Two arrested in Grand Island mailbox thefts

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - An investigation into thefts from mailboxes in Grand Island has led to a couple of arrests, thanks to the work of both the Grand Island police and the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

According to police Justin Burch and Rita Keeble, both of Grand Island were arrested in connection to thefts in the area.

Burch was arrested for aiding in consummation of a felony, Keeble for attempting to pass a forged check that was taken from an area mailbox.

Police officials say they don't know if these are the only two involved as the investigation continues.

It is recommended that people put outgoing mail in the secure blue boxes around town rather than in their own street side mailboxes.
