KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Two students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney are accused of sexually assaulting another student in a residence hall.
Prestin Melroy, 19, of Holdrege and Zachary Reikofski, 18, of Fairbury are both charged with first degree assault.
The case file with further information on the incident is sealed for student privacy.
The report was made to authorities early Sunday morning. The university released an alert campus-wide stating a timely warning as part of the Clery Disclosure Act. A second statement was released once the two men has been arrested Wednesday.
The two men are still students at UNK and the conduct board will be reviewing their status at the university.
Melroy was a member of the UNK wrestling team according to UNK spokesman Todd Gottula. Melroy has since been removed from the team for breaking team rules.
Gottula says there are numerous resources on campus available to victims of sexual assault.
The investigation is still ongoing.
