Upcoming benefit for Grand Island attorney
Grand Island attorney Shawn "Fish" Farritor has been dealing with health issues since the day he was born. Recently, he was the recipient of a heart and double lung transplant at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Shawn is an attorney at Legal Aide of Nebraska in Grand Island. He was born with transposition of the great arteries. He developed pulmonary hypertension over the course of his life which became so drastic that his lungs began failing.
In December 2019, Shawn received the gift of life from an organ donor by way of a heart/double-lung transplant.
It's been nearly two months since the operation and he's still recovering at the hospital.
Shawn's family is coming together to help him cover his medical expenses. They are hosting "Gone Fishin' with Hannah McNeil."
The event will be Friday, March 6, with a fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. and the concert with country singer Hannah McNeil beginning at 8 p.m. This is taking place at the Ravenna City Auditorium. There will be a cash bar available. The price for the concert is just $10.
The proceeds fromt eh event will go to help cover uncovered medical-related expenses.
